Meet the Family
Relocating from Stony Point, New York in 2005, Louie and Tami Natoli came to Wilmington with a great deal of experience. They were in the food service business in New York. Tami worked for her parents in Tarrytown, New York, where they owned and operated a catering business for 15 years known as Carole’s Kitchen. Louie and Steve ran mobile food trucks in Rockland and Putnam Counties. They discovered Southern living while visiting Tami’s brother Kenny Ercole in Little River, South Carolina, where Kenny owns Patio’s Tiki Bar there. The family thought it would be a great idea to bring a New York style deli to Wilmington. They partnered with Tami’s brother, Steve Ercole, who himself has a son, 3 daughters and a beautiful granddaughter Lilly, and opened S & L New York Style Deli in November 2005. Alongside the rest of the family is Tami and Steve’s Mom, Carole who comes in frequently to help out, and Louie and Tami’s daughter Allie who just graduated from nursing school, and their beautiful granddaughter Isabella. They are both frequently at the deli helping out and interacting with their customers, many who have watched them both grow up throughout the years.

We are a true New York Style Deli. Our bagels, kaiser rolls and sub rolls come from New York and are freshly baked daily. All our our meats and cheeses are from Boar’s Head and our salads are homemade. Each day, a regular menu and daily specials are offered. Breakfast favorites include Dr. Hooks, Cardiac Arrest, the Hobo, and New York style egg sandwiches, including pork roll and egg for customers from the North. According to one of of our wonderful customers, Daryl McNair, “they have the best pancakes anywhere.” Our catering menu favorites are Chicken Marsala, Eggplant Parmigiana, Meatballs, Baked Ziti and Marinated Chicken. We prepare boxed lunches for five people to one thousand people for any event, whether it’s a golf outing or an office meeting. All our desserts are baked on the premises.
Lunch favorites are the Godfather (Italian Combo), Penn Station (Reuben), Liberty, Yankee Stadium, Times Square, Central Park and Downtown (Philly Cheese Steak). Steve’s Homemade Soups are always a winner, especially his Butternut Squash Bisque. Daily Quiches, chicken salad, shrimp salad, tuna salad and egg salad are always on the menu.
